Product Description

This is the ultimate in iconic military sculpture and depicts three heavy cavalrymen of the Royal Scots Greys at the start of their famous charge at Waterloo.

It's 1.30 pm on the 18th June 1815 and Wellington is in trouble. I Corps of 7,000 men has just marched onto the top of his ridgeline and are spreading out along the top.

They are toe to toe with the Belgian Infantry and as every minute passes are blasting them away. The British second line, weakened after the Battle of Quatre Bras two days ago is already committed and the Prussians are only just arriving from the East.

With the timing of a genius Wellington orders his 1st and 2nd Heavy Cavalry Brigades to charge. The Household Brigade charge to the right of La Haye Saint and the Union Brigade are to smash head on into D'Erleon's I Corps.

The Royal Scots Greys are on the Brigade's extreme left and their charge takes them through the Gordon Highlanders and into the French 45th (The Invincibles). In a matter of minutes I Corps fortunes are dashed. As a rabble they turn and flee, running back to the French lines in disarray.

The scroll tells the full story.

Limited Edition of only 90 in cold cast bronze, 90 Hand Painted and 5 in Electro formed Silver.
