'Laying Foam' is the first of two new fire figurines for 2002. It tackles one of the most dangerous and difficult aspects of modern day firefighting that of chemical fires. With so many highly combustible and volatile chemicals, stored, transported and used daily, this aspect of firefighting is on the increase. The method works by spraying large quantities of liquid foam over the chemical spillage, to cut the materials off from the oxygen supply; thus snuffing out the fire. Its not difficult to forsee the difficulties in doing this at speed in all weather conditions.
