51st Highland Division Memorial, Somme

14' 51st Highland Division Beaumont Hamel Memorial.

The story behind this sculpture is that In 1997 Regimental Headquarters of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders loaned us the original Viewing Marquette, (The Sculptors preview) to make a mould from. From this original casting we carefully made a new mould and from there we went onto make our production master. This statuette therefore stands a full 14 inches high and has a very distinctive style. It is an exact pre-edition of the full scale 51st Highland Division Memorial which stands on the Somme.

The 51st Highland Division memorial is one of the best known of the World War 1 memorials and stands on the Somme above the village of Beaumont Hamel .
